India's Lalita Babbar finished 10th in the final of the women's 3,000 metre steeplechase at the Rio Olympics on Monday. The Maharashtra athlete was inside the top eight competitors midway and was not able to push as much as she would have liked to towards the closing laps. Despite her 10th finish, Lalita's effort was still the best performance by an Indian in a track event after after PT Usha's fourth-place finish in the 400m hurdles in 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
